Jayne Brayer is a Partner and trial counsel with the firm, and focuses her practice on the defense of talc, asbestos and significant personal injury matters in New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
Prior to joining MKCI, Jayne’s defense litigation experience included medical malpractice, dental malpractice, podiatric malpractice, products liability and insurance defense. She has a proven record of successfully defending business entities, physicians, medical groups, hospitals and healthcare systems through all stages of litigation for over twenty years.
Jayne has taken in excess of 12 jury verdicts, and she has selected more than 25 juries during the course of her 27+ years of practicing. She began her legal career as a Bronx Assistant District Attorney in 1992, and has since expanded her legal practice to include civil defense litigation.
Jayne obtained her Juris Doctor degree from Pace University School of Law, where she earned distinguished honors. During her law school studies, Jayne was a member of the Moot Court Board and a founding member of Pace University’s Women’s Justice Center. Jayne earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice from Temple University.
Tara E. Faenza is a Senior Associate in MKCI’s Miami, Florida office. Tara’s practice primarily focuses on asbestos, talc, first-party claims, employment and professional liability defense. She is also assisting as Trial Counsel for the firm’s asbestos and talc claims.
Prior to joining MKCI in 2021, Tara worked at the Miami Dade State Attorney’s Office where she tried 20 jury trials and close to 50 bench trials. Tara has focused on all matters of pre-litigation and litigation disputes. She has litigated cases in state and federal courts and before administrative agencies.
Tara is also proud to have achieved the following awards and honors: FL Super Lawyers Rising Star (2016-2021); Florida Trend Legal Elite 2018; AVVO – Top Contributor Award (2015-2017); Dade Legal Aid / Put Something Back Pro Bono Project – Pro Bono Award 2017; Dean’s Certificate of Achievement Award, Alternative Dispute Resolution, 2013; Honors – Litigation Skills Pretrial and Trial Courses, 2012; and Constangy, Brooks & Smith Diversity Scholars Award, Southern Region, 2012.
Tara obtained her Juris Doctor degree, cum laude, from the University of Miami School of Law, as well as an Employment, Labor, & Immigration Certificate. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from the University of Phoenix
