Amelia Dweck
OF COUNSEL
Amelia Dweck is Of Counsel in MKCI’s Brooklyn, NY office. Amelia’s practice focuses on insurance defense, litigation, and trials, and she has defended municipal, corporate and individual defendants in her 25 years of practice. As an experienced trial attorney, Amelia has litigated and taken over 75 verdicts in her career. She has represented auto insurance companies as in-house counsel and outside counsel and defended a municipal transportation agency. In 2019, Amelia successfully defended a municipality obtaining 7 defense verdicts that year.
In addition to her litigation experience, Amelia worked as a court clerk to the Honorable Judge Mark Finkelstein in Kings County Civil Court. She also volunteered as a Small Claims arbitrator in Kings County Small Claims court. Since she was already a certified mediator, she found this skill useful in resolving disputes with pro se litigants in court.
Amelia studied drama in college and credits much of her success at trials to her theatre background. On a personal level, she enjoys watching Broadway plays, visiting museums, hiking, swimming, traveling and playing tennis with her husband and their three teenagers on weekends.
Amelia obtained her Juris Doctor degree from Touro College, Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law School. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Hunter College with a degree in Political Science and a minor in Sociology. Amelia was awarded the Public Service Scholar award in college.
