Eva Urrutia
OF COUNSEL
Eva Urrutia is a Senior Associate in MKCI’s New York City office. Her practice focuses on New York Child Victims Act (CVA), Asbestos and General Liability matters. Eva is experienced in all stages of litigation from initial investigation through discovery, motion practice, mediation, and trial and prides herself on providing her clients with a thorough and active defense.
Prior to joining MKCI, Eva worked as an Assistant General Counsel at the Triborough Bridge and Tunnel Authority (TBTA) General Counsel’s Office, where she represented the TBTA in all aspects of litigation for toll enforcement and violation enforcement. Eva has also taught undergraduate and graduate level courses in criminal justice and criminal law as an Adjunct Professor at Marymount College, John Jay College and Iona College.
Eva’s work as a Prosecutor at the Bronx District Attorney’s Office spanned a period of 16 years, during which she worked in the investigations and trial bureaus and as a supervisor of the complaint room and arraignment court. She also has over 10 years’ experience working as a Hearing Officer and Administrative Law Judge with the NYC Office of Administrative Trial’s and Hearings and NYS Department of Correction and Community Supervision at Rikers Island.
In addition to her work at MKCI, Eva enjoys spending her free time hiking, traveling and cooking for her family.
Eva obtained her Juris Doctorate from Pace University School of Law and earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from Lehman College.
