Gardar Olafsson is an Associate in MKCI’s Syracuse, NY office. He represents a variety of corporate clients involved in toxic tort litigation and appreciates the importance of keeping his clients informed regarding their cases, claim and cost trends, and developments in the litigation overall. Gardar actively engages in the investigation and development of each of his clients’ background and witnesses in order to provide the best possible defense for his clients.
Prior to joining MKCI, Gardar was an associate at a boutique worker’s compensation insurance defense firm in Syracuse, NY, where he gained significant litigation experience in the insurance defense realm.
On a personal level, Gardar dedicates much of his energy to his health and fitness. He enjoys going to the gym and playing pickup basketball outdoors when the weather permits. Gardar also values strong relationships with family and friends, spends as much quality time with them as possible, and enjoys keeping in touch with his relatives in Iceland.
Gardar obtained his Juris Doctor degree from Syracuse University College of Law (SUCOL). While attending SUCOL, Gardar was a member of the Entertainment and Sports Law Society (ESLS) and served as 3L representative. In his 3L year, he helped organize the ESLS annual spring symposium, which offered CLE credits to admitted attorneys for the first time that year. Gardar earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Washington.
