George Collins
OF COUNSEL
George Collins is Of Counsel in MKCI’s Buffalo, NY office. He has experience in multiple areas of litigation, with a particular focus in General Liability claims involving premises liability, municipal law, and motor vehicle accidents. George also successfully represents school districts and municipalities in regard to personal injury claims and previously served as a Prosecutor in the Erie County District Attorney’s Office.
George has been a busy and successful trial attorney in Buffalo for many years, protecting policy holders or multiple insurance companies. He is a member of the Erie County Bar Association and the Western New York Defense Trial Lawyers Association and was named the Western New York Defense Trial Lawyer of the year in 2015. George has also been selected by his peers to be included in the Best Lawyers in America since 2010, as well as Super Lawyers in New York State at the same time.
On a personal level, prior to becoming a lawyer, George taught Middle School, worked for the New York State Legislature, and studied theater in New York City. He resides in Buffalo with his wife with whom he has raised five children. George has headed up multiple non-profit organizations, such as the Boys and Girls Club of Buffalo, the Taste of Buffalo, The Irish Classical Theater, and the Arts Council in Buffalo and Erie County.
George obtained his Juris Doctor degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo Law School. He minored in municipal law and received the Robert J. Connelly Award for Excellence in trial practice. George earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English with a minor in education from Grove City College, where he obtained his teaching certification. He also participated in varsity soccer and tennis at Grove City College.
