James Goodloe is a Senior Associate in MKCI’s Florham Park, New Jersey office with over seven years of litigation experience, including the defense of mass tort, product and premises liability, property damage, insurance defense, coverage, and personal injury litigation. His current practice focuses primarily on the litigation of cosmetic and commercial talc, asbestos, and other toxic tort matters in New Jersey. In this role, James oversees cases from inception until trial, managing client and expert discovery, taking depositions throughout the country, preparing and arguing motions, and assisting National Coordinating Counsel with case and trial strategy. James also reviews and provides analysis of corporate documents, developing defense strategy related to same.
Prior to embarking in the practice of law, James worked as an Assistant Vice-President and municipal bond trader for First Union Securities in Richmond, Virginia, and as the Vice-President of Institutional Sales at Toussaint Capital Partners in New York City.
On a personal level, James dedicates his time to his family, including his precocious young daughter. He enjoys live music, playing guitar, outdoor activities, craft beer, and reading.
James obtained his Juris Doctorate from Seton Hall University School of Law. While attending Seton Hall, James interned for The Honorable James C. Heimlich, J.S.C. (Ret.) in Union County. Following graduation, James served as Law Clerk to The Honorable Francine A. Schott, J.S.C. (Ret.) in Essex County. James earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from James Madison University.
