Jennifer Wheelock is a Partner in MKCI’s Hartford, CT office and manages the toxic tort litigation for this office. Her practice focuses on product liability and complex environmental litigation, including successfully defending asbestos, talc and negligence claims on behalf of large corporate clients and small businesses. Jennifer has extensive experience handling all aspects of litigation from its inception through to the time of trial. This includes the drafting of pleadings, discovery, dispositive motions and trial documents. It also includes conducting depositions, preparation of expert witnesses and negotiating settlements.
In addition to her litigation experience, Jennifer is a member of MCKI’s Diversity and Inclusion Committee, as well as MCKI’s Women’s Lawyer Initiative. Jennifer also participates in the training of all attorneys new to MKCI’s Hartford office’s toxic tort department, which involves guiding and overseeing the defense of cases throughout all aspects of litigation.
Jennifer is actively involved in her local legal community and enjoys giving back to the profession. She is President-Elect of the Hartford County Bar Association, has been elected to serve on the House of Delegates of the Connecticut Bar Association as of 2017, is a Bencher in the Oliver Ellsworth Chapter of the America Inns of Court, and is a member of the Rhode Island Bar Association. Jennifer has also served as Chair of the Women in the Law Section of the Connecticut Bar Association (Sept. 2016- June 2020) and as the Section’s legislative liaison (2015/2016).

On a personal level, Jennifer enjoys spending time with family and friends, playing tennis weekly, and frequent travel.
Jennifer obtained her Juris Doctor degree from Western New England University Law School. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Sociology from Providence College.
