Mr. Jensen is a seasoned trial attorney who has successfully taken numerous cases to verdict. He is an aggressive advocate for his clients. Mr. Jensen has extensive experience in defending civil actions in state and federal court, and has extensive experience in defending medical providers and facilities in complex litigation. Mr. Jensen focuses his practice primarily on defending clients in complex personal injury litigation involving alleged medical malpractice, toxic tort claims, environmental matters, construction and worksite incidents, emergency services liability, and other general litigation matters. He also focuses his practice on assisting individuals and institutional clients in matters relating to commercial litigation, professional licensing issues, and regulatory and criminal enforcement matters. He was selected to the Super Lawyers Rising Stars List for Upstate New York in 2018.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Jensen practiced law with a boutique medical malpractice defense litigation firm where he represented medical providers and facilities across New York State in complex medical malpractice actions. He also assisted in matters involving the New York State Department of Health’s Office of Professional Medical Conduct. Mr. Jensen also spent almost four years as a prosecutor with the Onondaga County District Attorney’s Office in Syracuse, New York. As an Assistant District Attorney, Mr. Jensen progressed through various assignments including the Municipal Courts Bureau, the Felony Trial Bureau, and the Economic Fraud and Rackets Bureau (White Collar Crime). He served as the Onondaga County District Attorney’s Office’s liaison to the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, handled numerous environmental offense prosecutions, and was also responsible for handling a large percentage of animal cruelty prosecutions in Onondaga County.
Mr. Jensen graduated cum laude from Syracuse University College of Law in 2012 with a Juris Doctor degree and Certificate of Advanced Study in National Security and Counterterrorism. He was selected as a member of the Syracuse University College of Law National Trial Team. Mr. Jensen represented Syracuse University at the National Civil Trial Competition in Los Angeles, California in 2010 and the National Trial Competition Regionals in 2011. He won the Syracuse University College of Law 34th Annual Lionel O. Grossman Trial Competition and was voted to be the best advocate in the final round of the competition. As a member of the Syracuse University College of Law American Bar Association National Appellate Advocacy Competition Team in 2012, he led Syracuse University to the regional semifinals and was ranked 5th best advocate in the region, out of 108 law students in the competition. He was a member of the Moot Court Honor Society and served on the Executive Board as Intercollegiate Competitions Director from 2011 to 2012. Mr. Jensen received numerous awards for advocacy including the International Academy of Trial Lawyers Award, earned by the best overall advocate in each graduating law school class. He also earned the Robert E. Miller Trial Advocacy Award, a Trial Advocacy Program Award, and was inducted into the Order of Barristers. Additionally, he was recognized for his extensive pro bono service throughout law school at graduation. Mr. Jensen served as a law clerk for the Onondaga County District Attorney’s Office in the Law and Appeals Bureau, and drafted appellate briefs and motions to the New York State Supreme Court Appellate Division, Fourth Department and Onondaga County Court. He also served as a student attorney in the Securities, Arbitration, and Consumer Law Clinic and was a research assistant with the Syracuse University College of Law Center for Indigenous Law, Governance, and Citizenship.
Mr. Jensen holds a Bachelor’s of Arts Degree in History, magna cum laude from the State University of New York at Binghamton and an Associate’s of Arts degree in Liberal Arts from SUNY Adirondack.
Mr. Jensen is a member of the New York State Bar Association, Onondaga County Bar Association, Oneida County Bar Association, and the Federal Court Bar Association (NDNY). He also is a member of various other civic organizations. He has also spent several years as a volunteer firefighter.
