Leah Sharkey

Leah Sharkey is an Associate Attorney in MKCI’s Syracuse, NY office. Her practice focuses on general liability and insurance defense including asbestos litigation and toxic tort cases. Leah deeply understands the litigation process and works to zealously advocate for her clients from case inception to resolution.

Prior to joining MKCI, Leah was an Assistant District Attorney in Oswego County. As an ADA Leah was assigned to City Court where she handled a wide array of misdemeanor and vehicle and traffic matters. Her practice relied heavily on evidence review, witness interviews and motion practice. Leah actively engaged with opposing counsel to provide discovery and negotiate resolutions.

On a personal level, Leah enjoys spending time with her family; including her two rescue dogs.

Leah obtained her Juris Doctor degree from Syracuse University. While in law school, Leah was a member of the Securities and Arbitration Clinic and a member of the Student bar Association. She earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Integrated Marketing Communications from Ithaca College where she was a member of the Varsity Women’s lacrosse team.
