Matthias DeAngelo

Matt DeAngelo is Of Counsel in MKCI’s Hartford, CT office. Matt brings over 34 years of experience in Civil Trial, Appellate, and Workers’ Compensation Practice to the table. He has successfully litigated cases in arbitration, at the trial court level before both Judges and Juries, and through the State Appellate and Supreme Court.
Prior to joining MKCI, Matt handled personal injury jury cases for an insurance company. He has also represented Fortune 500 companies in the Connecticut Worker’s Compensation Commission.
In addition to his legal work, Matt has published articles for the Connecticut Bar Association’s Workers’ Compensation Section and has moderated both live and remote seminars on Workers’ Compensation Law, Fraud Detection and Prevention, as well as Disability and Discrimination Law.
Matt was an elected member of the Wethersfield Board of Education, and served as a Justice of the Peace, and a Commissioner on the Zoning Board of Appeals. He is a Past President of Wethersfield Unico and a former Assistant Scout Leader for Boy Scout Troop 85 in Wethersfield, Connecticut.
On a personal level, Matt enjoys visiting and spending time with his family, including his siblings, nieces and nephews and his daughter who currently teaches High School Chemistry at a Catholic School in the Greater Philadelphia area.
Matt obtained his Juris Doctor degree from Cornell Law School, where he served as a Moot Court competitor and Judge. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from Georgetown University, where he served as a Math Tutor and Volunteer English Tutor to Latino Immigrants.
