Ms. Jayne is a Partner at MK&C handling both New York and New Jersey matters. Ms. Jayne has been a practicing attorney since 2001. In that time, she has handled all aspects of litigation, including trial, in a variety of actions, including construction defect, New York Labor Law, premises liability, food borne illness and products liability, at the trial and appellate levels. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Jayne successfully argued before the Court of Appeals for the State of New York, on behalf of a former building owner, in the matter of Cornell v. 360 West 51st Street Realty, LLC, et al., 22 N.Y.3d 762 (2014), which clarified the admissibility standard for expert testimony in the State of New York, with respect to issues of general and specific causation in a mold-based personal injury action.
Ms. Jayne is a 1998 graduate of Indiana University with a B.S. in public affairs and certificate in environmental science. She obtained her J.D. from Pace University School of Law, cum laude, in 2001, where she was a research and writing editor for the Pace Environmental Law Review. She is admitted to practice in the trial and appellate courts of New York and New Jersey, the District Courts of the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York, and the District Court of New Jersey.
