Sabina Khan
OF COUNSEL
Sabina Khan is Of Counsel at MKCI’s New York City office. She is a seasoned trial attorney with more than a decade of experience handling complex, high-exposure litigation matters. Sabina currently focuses on medical malpractice and general liability defense, representing clients through all stages of litigation from inception to resolution, including discovery, depositions, mediation, negotiation, motion practice, expert witness preparation, and trial readiness. She is admitted to the State Courts of New York and the United States District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of New York, and is a member of the New York State Bar Association.
Before joining MKCI in 2025, Sabina built a career across both the public and private sectors. As a criminal defense attorney, she prevailed in numerous hearings and every trial she tried, led a groundbreaking challenge to ICE’s unconstitutional detentions at Rikers Island, resulting in significant legal reforms in New York City, and directed a bail reform unit in Queens County. She also worked as counsel on a major class action lawsuit on behalf of incarcerated individuals with mental illness who were held past their release dates due to an inadequate capacity of community-based mental health housing programs, and she initiated a federal lawsuit against a state prison for the neglect and abuse of incarcerated people with disabilities. In private practice, Sabina served as lead counsel for a nationwide medical concierge company, advised businesses ranging from startups to major corporations on contract review, formation, and compliance, and secured favorable settlements for national and international clients through strategic pre-litigation efforts and negotiation. She also handled a variety of other civil matters and, most recently, served as an administrative law judge in New York City.
On a personal level, Sabina enjoys spending time with family and friends, and engaging in heavy weightlifting, running, writing, or diving into her next creative project. She enjoys exploring new skills and experiences – always curious, always learning.
Sabina earned her Juris Doctor degree from the City University of New York (CUNY) School of Law, and her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Columbia University.
