Ms. Newsome is Of Counsel in MK&C’s Florham Park, New Jersey office. She has extensive experience in environmental and toxic tort matters, focusing on asbestos litigation. She has defended manufacturers, distributors, contractors, and suppliers in litigation venued in upstate New York, NYCAL, and New Jersey. She has also defended the interests of clients in a wide range of other insurance defense matters, including products liability, insurance coverage, automotive, and premises liability.
Prior to joining McGivney, Kluger & Cook, Ms. Newsome was an associate at two prominent New Jersey law firms. Additionally, she previously served as a judicial law clerk to The Honorable Thomas J. Critchley, J.S.C. in the Superior Court of New Jersey.
Ms. Newsome received her Juris Doctorate from Rutgers School of Law-Newark in 2002. While in law school, she was a Teaching Associate for Legal Research and Writing, was a student intern with the Environmental Law Clinic, and served as an editor for the Rutgers Law Record. She obtained her undergraduate degree from Douglass College at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, where she had a double major in Spanish and Political Science, and also attended a study abroad program at the Universidad de Salamanca.
Ms. Newsome is admitted to practice law in New York and New Jersey.
