Tanner Kingston is an Associate in the firm’s Florham Park, NJ office. His practice focuses on civil litigation matters as a part of the firm’s General Liability Department. Tanner has represented corporations, insurance providers, and landlords in matters involving contract disputes, personal injury, and insurance coverage, including subrogation.
Prior to joining MKCI in 2021, Tanner clerked for the Honorable Janetta Marbrey, J.S.C. of the Mercer County Superior Court, Civil Division. As Judge Marbrey’s law clerk, Tanner was responsible for drafting and researching all of the judge’s opinions and decisions in the matters before her, while also coordinating with legal professionals and litigants to appear for conferences and oral arguments before the judge. During his clerkship, Tanner worked on matters that included personal injury, defamation, contract dispute, civil conspiracy, fraud, construction defects, insurance coverage, and suits brought against public entities.
Tanner is a member of the New Jersey and the New York State Bar Associations. He is passionate about music and theater, loves attending Broadway shows, and is an enthusiastic Seattle Seahawks fan. He is also an avid cook who is always looking to find new dishes to add to his repertoire.
Tanner obtained his Juris Doctorate from the Syracuse University College of Law, along with a Certificate of Advanced Study in National Security and Counterterrorism Law. While at Syracuse, Tanner was a member of the Travis H. Lewin Advocacy Honor Society as part of the Trial and Appellate Divisions. Tanner represented Syracuse as an arguing team member in the 2018 Hispanic National Bar Association’s Uvaldo Herrera Moot Court Competition and the 2019 Duberstein Moot Court Competition. Tanner was also an Associate Editor of the 2018 Journal on Terrorism and Security Analysis. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Theatre Arts with a Business minor from the University of Idaho.
