Theodore Araujo

Mr. Araujo started his career as a clerk to the Hon. Vincent J. Doyle, J.S.C., in Erie County New York. Justice Doyle was the first public defender in Erie County who became a Justice of the Supreme Court, NY; New York’s trial level venue. After serving as an Assistant District Attorney in Erie County, Mr. Araujo took a position with the law firm of “R. Gregory Leonard” in Morristown, NJ practicing primarily in the area of automobile insurance defense.
Mr. Araujo then took a position with his alma mater Cornell University as in-house counsel. Area’s litigated included Defense of Employment Claims, Premises Liability, Plaintiff’s Construction Malpractice, Personal-Injury Defense, Automobile Negligence, Medical Malpractice, Patent, Trademark and Copyright as a Plaintiff and in Defense of Claims against the University.
Mr. Araujo left Cornell to join the United States Marine Corps. As a Judge Advocate he served in the Environmental Law section at Camp Lejune North Carolina appearing before administrative agencies who regulated that base. After a successful year as Aide to the Commanding General, Mr. Araujo would serve as the Special Assistant U.S. Attorney for the District of Hawaii and finished his service as the Executive Officer at Marine Corps Base Hawaii.
Returning to Upstate, New York, Mr. Araujo was a partner and lead trial attorney at an intellectual property law firm that also handled insurance defense matters. He then joined the venture capital group “Cygnus Management Group” where he handled all litigation and intellectual property matters while reviewing the business plans of potential investments and acquisitions. Mr. Araujo currently handles the defense of construction defect, labor law, insurance coverage, premises liability, commercial, and Child Victims Act cases.
Mr. Araujo is currently admitted to practice law in the states of New York, Massachusetts and New Jersey.
