Maria is one of MKCI’s team leaders in the New York City Asbestos Litigation. Maria is a talented and articulate attorney, a great leader and mentor, a dedicated and hard worker, and is meticulous with her work product. Based on the facts and circumstances of each case, Maria ensures all available defenses are effectively and thoroughly prepared. Wendy Kagan – Florham Park, NJ

Jim defends clients from various claims arising out of asbestos, toxic torts, product liability, personal injury, professional malpractice, maritime, emerging technologies, and cybersecurity. Jim is based out of MKC&I’s Syracuse, New York office, and is admitted to practice in New York and New Jersey. However, he frequently represents clients nationwide, and has gained a reputation across the country as a tough negotiator and a straight-shooter. Jim is a fierce advocate in the courtroom, and a trusted advisor to his clients and co-workers.
Pooja Patel – Florham Park, NJ
Pooja is a dedicated, zealous and proven litigator, having successfully defended MKC&I clients at trial in asbestos and benzene cases in New Jersey and New York. She has handled cases from inception to conclusion, including taking and defending depositions, responding to discovery, engaging in motion practice, developing experts and corporate representatives, and preparing and appearing for trial. Her attention to detail and tireless work ethic makes her an excellent and responsive attorney to our toxic tort and environmental clients. Emily Weisslitz – Florham Park, NJ
Emily is an experienced and dedicated defense attorney. Since joining MKC&I, her hard work has made significant contributions to the firm and its clients.
