New York City Toxic Tort/Product Liability Attorney:

  • New York, NY

We are seeking a senior attorney to join our New York City toxic tort department. Attorneys at MKCI handle complex disputes, develop defense strategy, provide strategic solutions, and zealously defend our clients through all stages of a case, including in preparation for and during trial.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage complex civil litigation matters from inception through resolution via trial, dismissal, or settlement.
  • Draft and review motions, briefs, discovery, and other legal documents.
  • Argue motions and other case dispositions in Court.
  • Participate in client meetings, occasionally prepare case analysis reports, and provide effective and strategic legal advice to our clients.
  • Conduct and manage all phases of discovery, including depositions, examinations, expert identification, retention, and preparation, and witness preparation.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and staff within the firm to provide comprehensive legal services.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • 5+ years of experience in product liability litigation (asbestos/talc experience preferred) – salary commensurate with experience – range for role is $150,000 to $175,000.
  • Admission to practice law in New York required.
  • Superior analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

Associate Attorney

MKCI is growing!  We are seeking Associate Attorneys to join our New York City, Upstate New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, and Florida teams. These positions offer excellent opportunities for professional growth and development within a supportive and collegial environment.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Attend depositions and court appearances.
  • Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and other parties involved in legal matters.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on case strategy and management.
  • Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, client communications, and discovery.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis.
  • Assist in the preparation of cases for trial with opportunity for second chair trial experience if desired.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Admitted to practice in the States of New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, and/or Florida.
  • 2 to 7 years of experience as a civil defense litigator (salary commensurate with experience – range $100,000-$150,000).
  • Previous Civil Defense Litigation experience preferred.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

Summer Associate Program

Our goal is to provide McGivney Kluger Clark & Intoccia’s Summer Associates with a well rounded experience, offering them opportunities to learn about the firm and its practice areas.

Applications Are Now Closed

Each summer we offer 2L students the opportunity to intern with our firm for approximately 8 weeks in our Livingston, NYC, Syracuse, Philadelphia & Hartford offices. As a summer associate, you will receive challenging responsibilities and opportunities. You will work alongside our partners and associates, contribute to trials, and take part in depositions and client conferences. We provide our summer associates a stimulating, real world experience to prepare them to take on the responsibilities of a practicing attorney.
