Marc Pakrul is a Partner in MKCI’s Livingston, New Jersey and New York City offices. Historically, Marc’s practice has focused on litigation, including the defense of individuals, businesses, non-profits, and insurance carriers in a variety of contexts.  Marc’s present practice is primarily focused upon the defense of clients against claims of sexual assault.  While a large percentage of Marc’s clients are public entities and educational institutions, he also represents a number of private business and entities.  Specifically, this includes the defense of allegations of sexual abuse, harassment, bullying, and human trafficking

Prior to joining MKCI, Marc personally handled a wide array of civil cases from inception to conclusion throughout the New Jersey and New York state and federal courts. As the designated trial attorney for all of his cases, Marc conducted and defended countless depositions of parties, witnesses and experts, both for simple discovery purposes and de bene esse depositions for use at the time of trial. In particular, Marc acted as local counsel on behalf of several of the world’s largest financial institutions in defense of class action lawsuits arising out of the mortgage foreclosure and “robo-signing” crisis.

Marc has commenced a substantial number of trials throughout his career, and obtained a number of jury verdicts. In addition, Marc has been published in connection with the matter of Villanova v. Innovative Investigations, Inc., 420 N.J. Super. 353 (App. Div. 2011).

Marc was named a New Jersey Super Lawyer from 2017 to 2020, 2023-2024 and was selected as a New Jersey Super Lawyer Rising Star from 2008 to 2013.*

On a personal level, Marc enjoys spending his time watching his children on the track, soccer and lacrosse field – either from the sidelines as a spectator or coach.  And Marc especially loves talking about his marathon medal count – the total is at seven and he is waiting to conquer Tokyo to complete all of the majors!

Marc obtained his Juris Doctor degree from Fordham University School of Law. After completing law school, Marc clerked for the Honorable Bernard F. Conway, J.S.C., Superior Court of New Jersey, Morris County. In addition, he subsequently attended and completed the International Association of Defense Counsel’s Trial Academy at the Stanford University School of Law. Marc also earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and History from Rutgers College. Marc was both a Garden State Scholar and an Edward J. Bloustein Distinguished Scholar at Rutgers.
