Keith O’Connor is a Partner in MKCI’s New York City office. Keith’s focus is on Asbestos Litigation, where he has extensive experience defending high value matters throughout New York and New Jersey from inception through trial.
He has conducted hundreds of depositions, representing high-profile clients, including commercial and residential equipment manufacturers, New York Municipalities, various subcontractors, and national and local suppliers/distributors. In addition to his extensive experience in Asbestos Litigation, Keith successfully defends high profile clients in other complex product liability, environmental, toxic tort and talc claims. His experience includes overseeing and managing a high volume caseload and obtaining favorable results by pursuing novel defenses to minimize his client’s financial exposures. Keith routinely works with experts across a variety of subject areas, and creates and implements creative and “out of the box” discovery and investigation plans in furtherance of his clients’ defenses at trial.
In addition to his litigation experience, Keith plays an essential role in mentoring junior associates in different aspects of the litigation, including developing critical defense techniques in deposition skills, investigation, and alternate causations.
Prior to joining MKCI, Keith practiced both in New York and New Jersey and focused on the defense of general liability, products liability, toxic/environmental tort, mass tort and insurance coverage matters for major insurers and private companies.
On a personal level, Keith serves on the board of his Church and is part of multiple Committees heavily involved in fundraising and community leadership.
Keith obtained his Juris Doctor degree from New York Law School and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Kean University.
