Colin McGivney is a Senior Associate in MKCI’s Livingston, NJ office. He represents a variety of clients in general liability matters, including cases in areas such as product liability, premises liability, construction defect, professional liability, and insurance coverage disputes.
Colin actively guides his cases through the discovery process by drafting written discovery, taking depositions of parties and witnesses, and by forming a defense strategy for each particular case. Colin appreciates the importance of keeping his clients updated regarding their cases, claims, and developments in the litigation overall, and vehemently defends his clients through all phases of litigation.
Prior to joining MKCI, Colin served as the law clerk for The Honorable Bridget A. Stecher in the Law Division, Civil Part of the Superior Court of New Jersey, Essex County. During his clerkship, Colin assisted the Judge in all aspects of civil practice, including preparing motions, researching legal issues, drafting pre-argument memoranda, and drafting jury charges. He also served as a certified New Jersey Judiciary Mediator.
Colin also served as a student attorney in the Warren County Prosecutor’s Office in Belvidere, NJ.
In addition to his work with MKCI, Colin enjoys spending as much time as possible outdoors, hiking, fishing, skiing, hunting, and backpacking with his wife and their black lab.
Colin obtained his Juris Doctor degree from Rutgers University School of Law. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Fordham University.
