James Scaglione is an Associate Attorney in MKCI’s Livingston, NJ office. His practice focuses on litigation, particularly the defense of individuals, businesses, non-profits, and insurance carriers in a variety of contexts. As a former small business owner, James understands the importance of candid communication, setting realistic expectations, and working toward practical resolutions that serve his clients’ interests.
Prior to joining MKCI in 2026, James served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable John J. Abromitis, J.S.C., in the Chancery Division, Family Part of the Superior Court of New Jersey, Warren County. During his clerkship, James managed the Court’s motion docket, conducted legal research, and prepared draft opinions and orders for judicial review. During law school, James interned for a global insurance company, where he gained experience in insurance coverage and toxic tort matters, particularly those involving silica exposure.
In addition to his work with MKCI, James is an avid outdoorsman and enjoys home improvement projects with his wife, Nicole.
James earned his Juris Doctor degree from Penn State Dickinson Law, where he was a Katz Scholar. While at Dickinson Law, James served as Executive Symposium Editor of the Dickinson Law Review and was elected President of the Dickinson Law Federalist Society chapter. He obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from Western Governors University.
