John R. Evans

John R. Evans is Of Counsel in MKCI’s Philadelphia, Pennsylvania office. He has over thirty years of trial experience, and his practice includes all aspects of general liability defense, products liability defense including asbestos, premises liability, dram shop defense, negligent security, insurance coverage, and motor vehicle liability. He has tried over fifty jury trials in federal and state courts in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey. In addition to an active trial practice, John has argued appeals before the Superior Court of Pennsylvania, The New Jersey Appellate Division and The Third Circuit Court of Appeals.

When you retain John as your lawyer, the case is worked up for trial. He believes getting the case trial ready makes for the best possible negotiation position. He also believes if a case is going to resolve, it is better to do so early before significant costs and resources are used in litigation. He believes the key to an early and cost-effective resolution is making sure opposing counsel knows you are trial ready, while communicating with all parties involved throughout the litigation in a prompt and respectful manner.

John has given CLE many lectures on issues involved in defending dram shop cases.

When not working, John enjoys spending time with his family, running, cycling, and swimming.

John obtained his Juris Doctor degree from Widener University. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from The Pennsylvania State University. While at Penn State, he was a four-year member of the Varsity Cross Country and Track Teams.
