John Lanka
ASSOCIATE
John Lanka is an Associate in MKCI’s New York City office. His practice focuses on defending clients in toxic tort claims, including asbestos and talc litigation. John is involved in all stages of litigation, including investigation of claims, developing litigation strategy, conducting depositions, managing client discovery, motion practice, and preparing cases for trial.
Prior to joining MKCI as an associate in 2024, John gained experience as a summer associate in MKCI’s New York City office. Following his first year of law school, John had the privilege to intern for the Honorable Dicca T. Pineda-Kirwan of the Nassau County Supreme Court assisting in aspects of motion practice, conferences, and trials.
On a personal level, John enjoys skiing, running, reading, and cheering on his favorite sports teams the Mets, Jets, Islanders, Knicks, and his alma mater, Boston College. He also enjoys spending time with family and friends and exploring the neighborhoods around him.
John obtained his Juris Doctor degree from the Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University in 2024. While in law school, John served as an Articles Editor for the Hofstra Law Review and a Casebook Editor on the Hofstra Moot Court Board. Additionally, John was a member of the Hofstra Real Estate Law Association. John obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Boston College.
