Kelsey Williams
ASSOCIATE
Kelsey Williams is an Associate Attorney in MKCI’s New York City office. Her practice focuses on a broad scope of general liability matters, including premises liability, personal injury and motor vehicle claims. She is involved in all stages of litigation including motion practice, research, oral argument, negotiation, in-depth discovery review, and trial preparation.
Prior to joining MKCI, Kelsey was an associate attorney for a well-known divorce firm in New York, NY where she handled a variety of cases involving contested divorces, child custody, paternity, child support, and family offenses from inception to conclusion. She also handled drafting and negotiating complex prenuptial, postnuptial, and separation agreements. While working as a divorce attorney, Kelsey’s passion for legal research and oral advocacy enabled her to obtain a rare emergency foreign custody order hearing in New York Family Court under the Uniform Child Custody Jurisdiction Enforcement Act.
Kelsey is passionate about volunteer work and is a member of Cheer New York, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that utilizes athletic ability to raise money for locally-based charities that advocate for equality for the LGBTQ+ community.
Kelsey earned her Juris Doctor degree from St. John’s University School of Law. While in law school, she participated in several clinics such as the Consumer Justice for the Elderly Litigation Clinic where she represented low-income, elderly residents of Queens in cases involving foreclosure defense, deed theft, mortgage loan modifications, home improvement contractor fraud and debt collection. She also participated in the Securities Arbitration Clinic where she represented under-served investors in securities arbitration claims before the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA). Kelsey obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Texas State University.
