Ms. Dean is a Partner and Trial Counsel in MKC&I’s Syracuse, New York office. She is a tenacious and aggressive litigator, specializing in toxic tort claims involving asbestos, chemical exposure, fire claims, and environmental contamination, as well as the defense of personal injury, product liability, and premises liability matters. She has tried several cases in Upstate New York defending difficult claims and obtaining favorable results.
Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Dean worked as a Judicial Fellow for Hon. Anthony Cannataro in the Bronx County Civil Court and as a Staff Attorney for the Legal Aid Society of Rochester. Ms. Dean received her Bachelor’s Degree in Philosophy, Politics and Law from Binghamton University and her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Brooklyn Law School. While at Brooklyn Law, she was a competing member and coach within the Appellate Division of the Moot Court Honor Society, finishing as a North East Regional Quarterfinalist at the prestigious Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition. Ms. Dean was the recipient of the A. Edward Hammerman Memorial Scholarship for outstanding performance in the field of estates and trusts, as well as the Gold Pro Bono award for achieving nearly 1000 hours of pro bono work while attending law school.
Ms. Dean has also previously interned or clerked for several public interest and government organizations, including the Legal Bureau of the New York City Police Department, the Special Narcotics Bureau of the New York County District Attorney’s Office, the Office of the Solicitor for the United States Department of Labor, and for The Honorable Eileen A. Rakower in the New York State Supreme Court, Civil Branch, New York County. Ms. Dean was a member of the board of Brooklyn Law’s Law Students for Reproductive Justice and a member of the Courtroom Advocate’s Project, where she worked with The Legal Aid Society in the Queens County and Kings County Family Courts advocating for Orders of Protection for victims of domestic violence.
Ms. Dean is licensed to practice law in the State Courts of New York and New Jersey, and United States District Court for the Northern District of New York. She is a member of the New York and New Jersey State Bar Associations.
