Nicholas DeMattheis
OF COUNSEL
Nick DeMattheis is Of Counsel in MKCI’s Livingston, NJ office. His practice focuses mainly on environmental litigation matters for a wide range of corporate and small business clients. During his long tenure with MKCI, he has worked closely many of the firm’s clients in navigating the ever changing landscape of toxic tort litigation. Nick has attended and conducted hundreds of depositions, prepared and argued numerous motions and appellate briefs, and has tried several cases to verdict. He has also second chaired several asbestos matters that settled prior to verdict.
Nick also handles a wide range of transactional matters including real estate sales and acquisitions, estate planning and administration, and general civil and criminal matters. Additionally, he has extensive appellate experience in the Maryland courts, where he has briefed and argued issues including interpretation of the workers’ compensation statute, statutory employers, and premises liability.
Nick is a member of the New Jersey and Sussex County Bar Associations.
In his spare time, Nick is a musician and avid fisherman.
Nick obtained his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Baltimore School of Law, from which he graduated with honors. He also received the American Jurisprudence Award for excellence in the study of insurance law. Nick earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from William Paterson University.
